Ricky graduated from St. Cloud High School in 1996. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors. After college, Ricky returned to Osceola to work full-time on his family's beef cattle operation - the Doc Partin Ranch.
He and Erika were married in 2002. They have three children: Nellie, Natalie, and Thomas. Erika, who is also a graduate of St. Cloud High and the University of Florida, worked as an elementary educator in Osceola for over 20 years. His parents Tom and Martha Booth were also Osceola educators, both for over 30 years.
Ricky believes in the value of industry and community organizations, and in serving your community. He is an active member of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and the Florida Cattlemen's Association, having been selected for both groups' Young Leadership Conferences. He has served as the President of the Osceola County Cattlemen's Association, twice being named the Osceola Leader and Rancher of the Year, President and Director of the Florida Brahman Association, Director of the American Brahman Breeders' Association, USDA Subtropical Beef Cattle Research Advisor, University of Florida Beef Cattle Research Advisor, and is currently serving as a Director of the Osceola County Farm Bureau. His work includes political advocacy efforts locally, in Tallahassee, and in Washington, D.C. In 2011 and 2012, Ricky served as the President, or "Big Boss," of the Silver Spurs Rodeo, carrying on a proud family tradition of volunteerism right here in Osceola County. He also coached for St. Cloud Little League for 10 years.
Mr. Booth began his political career in 2014 when he was elected to the Osceola County School Board, where he served until his election to the Osceola County Commission in 2020. He was successful in raising academic achievement, restoring civility, creating a culture of collaboration, engaging community partners, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and always putting the needs of students and teachers first.
As your Commissioner, Ricky proudly serves on the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce Board and on the County Coalition for the Responsible Management of Lake Okeechobee.
Most importantly, Ricky and his family are faithful members of the Kissimmee Christian Church.
